If you’re like me (which some of you definitely are) you have some days when you feel really great about yourself and other days where you wish you ate more salads. One day you can look at yourself in the mirror, smile and say “wow I am really beautiful”, or “Hey who’s that handsome guy”? On other days you barely look at yourself because your body is feeling sluggish, which changes your mood and puts you into a self-loathing state of mind. I have started to take charge of my life and of my body by changing my eating habits, being more active, and actually writing a book about my journey (more on that soon). I’ve started working out in our gym and even though I haven’t quite mastered each piece of equipment I still feel a sense of joy and fulfillment after my 30 to 1-hour workout. If you workout in a gym, practice Yoga, have fun at Pilates or take a spin class then you need to make sure that you are fueling your body properly. I know how I should eat, what my body likes, what I am allergic to, and what I’d rather not eat but I was forgetting about an important step, protein powder.
While I was standing in CVS the other day I realized that there are so many options for those who suffer from allergies, overactive histamine, sensitive stomachs, and non-allergic rhinitis (which is my latest diagnosis..yay). While I am really excited about all of these great options I was stuck searching my phone and Google to figure out the best brand and which flavor tastes the best and which ones were allergen friendly, it was exhausting. I left the store empty handed and decided to do some research on my own, and share it with all of you! Here are some really amazing, delicious, low sugar, and allergen friendly options to kick start your fitness.
#1 Vegan Smart
This one is my favorite because it offers nutrition, allergen friendly ingredients, and it’s chocolate. Vegan smart is packed with delicious flavor and vitamins to fuel your body, giving you lasting energy all day long. This mixture contains omega 3, fiber, minerals, digestive enzymes, and it leaves out dairy & soy, gluten, cholesterol, and GMO’s! Amazon has some great deals so make sure to check their website first.
#2 Plant Based Plant Fusion
PlantFusion has the perfect formula for all of you animal lovers because it’s made without using animal byproducts. This protein powder is easy on your stomach and completely allergen free. They’ve also taken this a step further by making it hypoallergenic and free from all major allergens including, dairy, soy, gluten, eggs, nuts, fish, tree nuts, and shellfish.
Here’s a classic vanilla flavor for those of you that aren’t as chocolate obsessed as I am. This formula is creamy and delicious, and also plant based. This vanilla bean flavor is packed with organic ingredients, 21 grams of protein, 5 grams of organic fiber and only 150 calories per serving. It’s also Gluten Free, Kosher, Vegan, Non-GMO, and Soy free. This one also has over 7,000 reviews on Amazon so clearly it is a favorite!
#4 Yuve Vegan Protein Powder
Yuve Protein Powder is clean, pure and delicious tasting protein powder that skips artificial colors and flavors. This formula is packed with nutrients, fruits, and vegetables including acai, alfalfa sprout, and chia seeds. Its claim is to help with weight loss and increased energy although to see this results you’ll need to add this product along with your workout. It is Gluten free, non-GMO, dairy free, soy free, egg white free, animal free, cruelty-free, hemp free, hormone free, whey free, and lactose-free.
Vega is packed with 20 grams of protein and is plant-based and filled with vegetables and greens including, spinach, kale, and broccoli. If your stomach is sensitive I would try option #1 on my list because some green ingredients can cause inflammation for those that have IBS, Hashimoto’s and Thyroid disease, and Non-allergic Rhinitis. This blend also has zero grams of sugar and is free from GMO’s, gluten, animal products which make it vegan-friendly, artificial colors and flavors, and artificial sweeteners.
All of these formulas are great options to kick start your fitness routine and your new healthy lifestyle. If you want more tips on how to beat thyroid exhaustion, belly bloating, cravings, and anything else related to wellness leave your request below!
